Sering Aku

Sering aku lupa
Sering aku lalai
Sering aku terlena

Ketika mulut tak kugunakan untuk menyebut asma-Nya
Ketika mulut tak kugunakan untuk membaca firman-Nya
Ketika mulut tak kugunakan untuk memuji kebesaran-Nya

Betapa bodohnya aku
Betapa hinanya aku

Aku terjebak dalam tipuan dunia
Aku terperosok jauh dalam perangkap setan
Aku tersesat...

Aku ingin bangkit
Aku ingin mencari tempat berlindung

Satu hal yang aku tahu
Engkau satu-satunya tempat ku kembali Ya Allah

A Brief Talk About Work

http://chrispiascik.com/daily-drawings/work/
When you get a job, you'll love it or either way you'll hate it. Working is not only about the job itself but also the people who will be your partner, your boss, your friend, and "your enemy".

I've been working for more than two years after I completed my bachelor degree. Before that, I did an internship in a government institution when I was still in college. I felt excited when it was my first day of work. It's like wow cool I got a job...I'm not a kid anymore...I could earn my own money...yeah.

That's what all I thought at first. But then it changed.

You are lucky when you get a job that is really your passion. I think that's the first thing to be considered when looking for a job. The next thing is, of course, salary. We can't deny that we need money. We do need money. However, my suggestion is never get too obsessed with money or you'll regret it someday. To me, there's another thing that matter more than any aspect of my job. That is working environment.

Wherever you are, you feel comfortable when you're surrounded by people who you like, people who have the same way of thinking with yours. The fact is there must be at least one person, any person, who makes you annoyed, feel irritated, or feel intimidated at worst, but that won't matter if you don't talk or interact with him/her frequently. So just don't care about that kind of person. None of your business.

The big problem is when that 'annoying person' is in the same department or even the same cubicle with you. The bigger problem is when that 'annoying person' is your own boss. Well, it depends on your luck haha.

The 'annoying' term here refers to something that makes you feel like you want to resign from your job. Something that affect your work directly. It's not a personal matter. It's a professional matter.

You'll probably meet someone who claim all of your works as his/hers, keep blaming you when something wrong happens, or tell your boss any non-sense thing about you. Some of my friends had been there, facing that hard situation, then they wanted to resign.

Well, actually you have to be strong on dealing with that kind of person. Don't let them scare you, don't let them to stop you to reach you success (what?). The most important is you have to prove them that you are not weak, that you are bulletproof!

Basically, wherever your work place is, there will be something that make you uncomfortable, make you bored, make you want to move out. The thing is how you deal with the situation. Self-control is also really important to keep your working stability and consistency.

Naturally, humans will never feel satisfied enough on anything. They always want more and more.

So, never forget to be grateful of what you have now. It's good to make improvement but don't let your ambition and ego kills you in the end.
